Privacy policy

Last updated: October 26, 2026

Plot Twist doesn’t collect any data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no server. The app sends nothing over the internet.

Camera and microphone

They are used only while you set a trap, to film the reaction of the people in front of your iPhone Duo. The live image is shown on the outer screen so they can see themselves. Recording and editing happen entirely on your iPhone.

Your videos

The raw video and the edited reel are saved to your Photos library (add-only access: Plot Twist can’t read your photos). If Photos access is off, the raw video is kept in Files › On My iPhone › Plot Twist. Plot Twist itself never uploads them. If iCloud Photos is on, Photos syncs them like any other video.

Permissions

You can turn off camera, microphone or Photos access anytime in Settings › Plot Twist.

Settings

Your preferences (left-handed controls, auto-stop, sounds, whether you’ve seen the introduction) are stored on your iPhone. Deleting the app deletes them, along with any video kept in Files.

Third parties

Plot Twist contains no third-party code that collects data: no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting kits.

Children

Plot Twist collects no data from anyone, children included.

Changes and contact

Plot Twist is made by an independent developer in Montréal. If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. Questions? Write to SUPPORT_EMAIL or see support.
